When I wrote these songs, River was with me and he was involved in every part of the recording. He stood on a stool in front of me while I was singing, and sat on my lap while I was playing piano and drums. Some of his sounds are on the recording and it makes these songs even more precious for me. The Greatest Love is my love letter to him. Tout est possible — “everything is possible” — came from singing to River in French, where we can express love and emotion in a completely different way.
